What is a Junior Leader?
Being a Junior Leader is a chance for youth members in our community to utilize an agricultural setting to develop leadership and management skills, positive self-esteem, effective communication skills, a solid sense of personal responsibility, the ability to make sound decisions, be part of a team, and gain a broader understanding of agricultural importance and purpose.

Hi! I am the new Director of Youth Programs at GGYR! I am so beyond excited for the wonderful opportunity to work with the Junior Leaders this year! A little bit about me...I grew up in Rio Rancho with my parents and three siblings. I graduated from UNM with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with a focus in Literacy and Science. Post graduating and teaching, I applied for the U.S. Peace Corps where I was accepted in Uganda, Africa as a Literacy Specialist and Youth Empowerment Facilitator. I love culture, people, and the beautiful world we live in! I have an incredibly strong passion to work with youth and I believe wholeheartedly in their influence, potential, and role in creating a positive change in our community, environment, and world. I have been in search since returning to the U.S. for the opportunity to work with youth toward a cause I believe in and I have found it in the very same city I grew up in with GGYR! I know that as a team we will do wonderful things together!
