Brownie Bash

Two weeks ago many of us benefitted from a contest between five girls (Brooke, Claire, Jordan, Carrie, and Jasmine) and one boy (Big Grant)–who could bake the best batch of brownies.  Let me tell you, the judging was a pleasure.

They were supposed to be judged on presentation and taste but once we took a few bites, most of us just let our taste buds do the judging.  The girls all went for a patriotic theme while Grant decided to put some ketchup on his.

I kid!  It only looked like ketchup.  It was actually some tasty strawberry puree he concocted.

The brownie judging was definitely a fun addition to our Junior Volunteer Day.  Congratulations to Grant (I’d insert his pic if I had been smart enough to take one that day) who was the overall winner. But girls, your brownies were definitely delicious as well–chocolate, butterscotch, marshmallows–great stuff.

So when is the cookie contest?

I had the wonderful pleasure of being in Michelle Merrill’s kitchen and listen to all the fun and laughter of the “Girls”. The flour fight was a classic. I know they all must have tasted delicious and maybe if they do a cookie contest they will send me some. Girls you can bake for me anytime.

Sorry we missed that. The only thing better than eating brownies is licking the bowl when they are being made. Well done Grant.

I’m a ketchup gal and was a little disappointed it was strawberry. :-)
