A look a just some of the happenings of the last two days–
HAY, How are the horses supposed to concentrate when their lunch cruises by?!
Seen here, a total tease! Max had Frank set up the duck races so the kids will have something fun to do while they’re waiting their turn to ride, but the pumps “dry rotted.” Cruel and unusual punishment to have it there taunting them. Daniel, one of our volunteer’s son, asked, “Where are the ducks?” Break my heart and how does a three year old remember that ducks go with the pumps?
My sweet mama showed up with Sonic drinks for all the adult volunteers. Love that woman!
How did I reward her, you ask? I had her fill out a waiver, of course!
In fairness, she remembered but I had her follow through with it. She would never sue me in a million years but this keeps it fair to everyone else. Plus, now I get to say, “I even had my mom fill it out.” Wipes out the guilt when I make my friends do it as well. Mom, thanks for taking one for the team.
Actually seen a week or so ago but I wanted to make sure I didn’t neglect showing all of you.

One of my favorite pictures from today. This is Dawn (left) telling Monnie what happened in the pen while she was working with Seabiscuit and a young girl. I guess Seabiscuit bit her once on the rear and then followed up on her leg. The last one hurt so she said, “Ouch, you little s*%t!” She couldn’t believe it came out of her mouth. No worries though–she told the girl’s mama what happened and was relieved when the mom laughed it off.
I guess this kind of stuff happens with free help! ;) Dawn, we love you and your crazy self.

That is what our half-functioning brains can produce. Thanks, also, to those not listed. Man, I don’t like forgetting people.
What a great week we had!
Don’t forget to schedule! It opened up tonight at midnight.
Have a great one.

You always forget two people – Michelle and Max. Thanks to you guys for all you do.
Dan
Thank you very much Julie for the sonic drink, it was much needed.
My mouth gets me in trouble often
The ranch is looking like a park. Wow. The trees are really growing. So often photos are up close and one doesn’t get the full picture. Tell Dawn she cracked me up to and that is one of my worries. As I have aged, my tongue has gotten more salty (as in a sailor), and I am so afraid it will spill out at the wrong moment.
