That little fur ball is 13 weeks today. Max and the kids took him to out to the ranch for the morning. I called Max to see how everything was going and to see if Hank was staying away from the horses. Max said, “Well, a little bit ago he was licking Ghost’s hooves. After that, he was hanging out in Poncho’s pen with him.” Just great. My sweet little Hank hanging out with psycho Poncho. Max said they got along just fine. Maybe there is another living creature that Poncho can get along with after all.
Hank especially loves our rabbit, Ginger. Ginger used to have a pretty great life before Hank appeared on the scene. We let her roam around our backyard all the time. We just leave her hutch open so she can go in and out to eat and drink as she pleases. Life is good. Life was good.
Now she has a new “buddy” who likes to play chase with her whenever he’s awake. Max and I have convinced ourselves that she enjoys Hank almost as much as he adores her. She hops away from him, but not very earnestly. They are so cute to watch playing. Whenever she allows him to get close enough, he stops and just sniffs her. If she hides in a place he can not access her, Hank starts barking and whining for her to come out.
I love Hank in this picture. He cannot quite coordinate his awkward little puppy legs. More times than not, he’s tripping on himself.
Does Ginger look like she’s having fun to you?
What can be more fun than a crazy little dog hounding you incessantly?
I give Hank a few more weeks and he’ll be able to catch her with ease.
Let’s just hope they love each other as much as we think. We will keep you apprised if anything should change.

retriever- sounds like a good name for a hunting dog to me. Are you sure he’s not practicing? Let’s hope not! Poor Ginger may have more in store for her than she’s expecting.
apprised- good word!
Cute pics of cute animals. Our Cait is growing so fast and she is kind of past the cute puppy stage and her herding instinct is kicking in. I am not sure we are ready for this. Since hank is a retriever, not a eater, Ginger should be just fine. We hope!
OOPs, did it again. Last post was from Tj. I am too lazy to log in now. Good Night
Oh,that is cute overload! Your rabbit is adorable! Our dog and rabbit used to play chase when I was little, but I think our dog was actually pretty scared of Licorice because she was one tough bunny.
Great pictures. I don’t think Hank would be a threat to the bunny, but if I’m wrong don’t hold responsible.

I love his oversided puppy paws that trip him up!! Too cute!! He looks like he is having a blast, now the rabbit??? He might regret having such a friend as Hank when Hank gets a big older! LOL!!
Goodness! I hope that Hank has had a good meal before his playtime with Ginger, lol!
Reminds me of that story/movie “The Fox and the Hound.” They were good buddies when they were little pups, then the hound dog grew up and had to hunt that fox. Hank sure is gettin’ big!
